Make the Call: Celebrating National Call a Friend Day

This Saturday, December 28, is National Call a Friend Day—a perfect reminder to reconnect with the people who matter to us.

Life gets busy. I’ve noticed this a lot lately—people apologizing for not responding to texts, emails, or calls. Sometimes it’s been months or even longer, and they’ll say, “I meant to respond, but I just never got around to it.” Honestly, I can relate. Somewhere along the way—maybe during COVID—I lost track of my ability to respond in a timely manner. Now, I either reply right away or… not at all.

It’s not just me. So many of us struggle with this. But here’s the thing: even if it’s been a while, it’s never too late to reach out. Call the friends you’ve been thinking about. Send a quick text to let someone know they matter to you.

National Call a Friend Day is a great excuse to say, “Hey, I’m still thinking about you, and you’re important to me.” It doesn’t have to be perfect or polished—just make the call. It might be exactly what you both need.

At Connected Recovery™, we emphasize the healing power of relationships—don’t underestimate the impact of reaching out.
