Have you ever heard of kintsugi? It’s a Japanese art form where broken pottery is mended with gold, highlighting the cracks rather than hiding them.
I have a piece of kintsugi in my office, and it serves as a powerful reminder. I used to say that kintsugi shows we are more beautiful for having been broken. But now, I see it differently. We’re not more beautiful simply because we’ve been broken—we’re more beautiful for the steps we take to heal.
Healing transforms us. Through the effort to mend ourselves, we become someone we love even more than before. We’re able to connect with others in ways we never imagined. We find peace and experience joy in ways we didn’t know were possible.
At Connected Recoveryâ„¢, we support people in taking those steps to heal, mend, and rediscover their own beauty and strength.
