Trauma Certification Through Connected Recovery™ Training

For professionals who are not offering therapy, counseling, or coaching, such as Attorneys, Medical Professionals, etc., who are interested in providing Trauma-Informed Care to their clients and patients.

Connected Recovery™ Training offers a three-hour class that walks you through understanding what trauma is and the potential impact it has on individuals, including information about ACEs (Adverse Childhood Experiences). This training can be taught to individuals or groups. Those who attend the class become Certified Trauma Trained Professionals, a certification valid for three years.

Certification for Mental Health Professionals Through Connected Recovery™

Certification in Connected Recovery™ as a Certified Connected Recovery Specialist (CCRS) is available to all mental health professionals, including:

  • Individuals who do not have master’s-level (or above) licenses in the field of mental health, but are interested in learning the model to facilitate the work they are doing (this might include Recovery Coaches, DV Advocates, Victim Advocates, etc.)

  • Master’s-level and doctorate-level clinicians (LMFTs, LPCs, LCSWs, Psychologists, etc.) who work with individuals and/or couples who are struggling to recover from infidelity and/or betrayal, but do not have specialized certification in PSB, Betrayal, or Sex Therapy.

  • Master’s-level and doctorate-level clinicians who specialize in more severe levels of Problematic Sexual Behaviors (PSB) and/or Betrayal Trauma and have specialized certification in at least one of those areas (CST, CSAT, CCPS, CPTT, CPSBT, etc.).

All those who complete the Connected Recovery™ Model Training are Certified Connected Recovery™ Specialists (CCRS). Those who complete both trainings (in any order) are Certified Connected Recovery™ Disclosure Specialists (CCRDS).

  • Connected Recovery™ Model Training – A two-day training (14 hours total, 7 each day) that covers the Connected Recovery™ model in detail, addressing Early, Middle, and Late Recovery for both those struggling with PSB and those healing from betrayal ($600)

  • Connected Recovery™ Disclosure Training – A two-day training (14 hours total, 7 hours each day) that provides an Introduction to Problematic Sexual Behaviors (PSB) and Betrayal Trauma and walks clinicians through the Connected Recovery™ Disclosure Process ($600)

A discount is available if you register for both trainings at the same time. Those who have attended CCBRT Mod 3 through IITAP only need to attend the Connected Recovery™ Model Training to become a CCRDS.

Supervision/Consultation on the model and the disclosure model is available, but not required for certification. There is no application to become certified. Your certificate will be sent to you after completing the training.

***Certification at any level is valid for 2 years. Certification renewal requires completion of the renewal application with the required documentation and fees, along with 6 CEU hours within the last two years, 2 of which need to focus on some level of PSB, 2 of which need to focus on Betrayal Trauma, and 2 of which need to focus on relational work. Please note – if certification has been lapsed for longer than 5 years, recertification may be required.***
